-The price. ($400) I was going to justify it by saying that when we move I could use it in the new nursery, a powder room or even an entry way.
-The chrome. I actually like chrome, but my curtains came in and they are even more of a rich "gold" color than I thought. I like them though. (They are also non-returnable, so I'm stuck with them.)

-The size. It's only 15" across. Although the room isn't that big, our ceiling are pretty high, so I would have preferred it to be 18"+ across.
So what do you think of just doing a drum pendant? I found this on on ebay and it's a fraction of the price at like $130 which includes shipping. (And that's if I used the "buy it now" option.) It is white and has a nickel "hanger" but I can probably spray paint that bronze if I want to. It comes in square and round and both are 20" across. They also come with a diffuser on the bottom so the baby won't have to look up at bare bulbs all the time.

So what do you think? I'm thinking that there are just too many cons to the first one.
PS--You might be wondering why I'm so concerned about this so early. Well, I have to get an electrician out here to put a hole and wiring in the ceiling. I also an getting new carpeting soon and would rather have the dusty process of "hole making" done with before carpeting and fresh painting happens. See! I really do have a plan!

I'd definitely go with the drum light. I think you are right - too many negatives with the lotus pendant.
Love the round drum light!
