Helloooo everybody!!
We got our 20 week ultrasound this morning! It wasn't supposed to be until Thursday, but the doctors had to move around the schedule a bit, so we got it done early.
The 20 week ultrasound is known as the "big ultrasound" because you can find out the sex at this point. Even though we didn't want to find out the sex, it was still so exciting. We haven't had an ultrasound since about 8 weeks, when the little one was nothing but a little bean with a heartbeat. Now he/she looks like a real baby! Everything measured perfectly and the baby weighs about 12 ounces. That's almost a whole pound!
:EDIT:--Woops. Forgot to include what you are actually looking at in the picture. The baby is lying on its side with the top of it's head at the very left. The picture only shows the head (The two eye sockets are looking right at you and you can see it's little chin right in the center of the picture.) The little "striped line" on the right of the picture going from right to left is the neck/spine. All the bright while color is bone structure. (skeleton) Does that help?
We didn't get the best photos because the baby was in the breech position, (Hope it gets that out of it's system early...) but we saw everything. (Well, not everything... it cooperated and didn't show us it's "business" since we didn't want to know.) The little arms were punching, legs were kicking.. he/she really put on a show for us.
There are tons more pics, but the one above was the best one of it's little face. (A little alien-like, but we are in love nonetheless.)
T tried to play devil's advocate and asked the doctor if she could tell the sex and she said that she didn't even look around down there because she's a bad liar and wouldn't be able to keep it in. I guess everyone will be surprised when this little one makes it's debut!
I'll post the next round of belly pics on Wednesday when I officially hit 20 weeks. I'm thinking I might need to start wearing maternity pants though, if that gives you an idea. :)

Have you ever seen the Friends episode where Rachel is freaking out because she can't decipher what's what on her ultrasound picture? That's how I feel looking at that picture, LOL. :)
